The Leader, founded in 1889, is headquartered in the Enoch Fowler Building (1874), the oldest two-story sandstone structure in Washington State.  In the 1980s the Leader became the first community newspaper in Washington State with a newsroom computer network.  In the early 1990s the Leader became the first community newspaper in Washington State with a website.
